Helping you start a fitness business

I’ve built my own coaching business over the past seven years. Clearly, It hasn’t happened overnight, but it’s now my main source of income. Now I’m launching a series of online workshops on how to start and build your own fitness business.

Building a fitness business

When I was starting out I read a lot of books as well as learning a lot by trial and error. I looked at the free downloads by ‘business coaches’ and ‘social media strategists’ I couldn’t afford to hire and observed what other coaches were doing. I also ignored a lot of the advice because 1) It wasn’t aimed specifically at the fitness industry or 2) It was made for the US market. So I decided to write a book of my own to fill this need.

I’ve written two books before. I’m a writer at heart. I trained as a journalist and worked as an editor. But books aren’t always the best way to teach people. Becoming a coach taught me that.

So here we are. I’ve turned the book idea that reached 6,000 words (and I hadn’t finished) into a workshop. It was going to be a full day in a very nice space around a big white table with refreshments on hand. Then Coronavirus happened.

Supportive environment

But rather than that being a negative, it presented an opportunity. Instead of a full day that you would go away from full of knowledge and enthusiasm only to lose momentum, I could give you shorter sessions delivered over a few weeks. That way you’d have things to implement in your own way each week and then come back and discuss any problems or successes you had with a supportive bunch of people doing the same as you.

The first workshop sold out in a couple of days and I’m looking forward to chatting with the group and helping them make their ideas a reality.
