Covid-19 Guidance and Disclaimer

Resuming group exercise will always carry a degree of risk associated with transmission of Covid-19. The risk cannot be eliminated unless you decide not to resume activity until there is an effective vaccine or cure, or the disease is eliminated from the UK.

We have assessed the key generic, operational and site specific risks involved in running this group and the guidance below will help to minimise these risks. However it is the collective responsibility of everyone taking part in our sessions to help us all stay safe.

By taking part in a session you are accepting there is an element of risk and agreeing to adhere to the guidelines below.

Run groups and circuit sessions

There will be a maximum of 12 participants in the class (10 for circuit sessions), plus your coach. This is in line with England Athletics guidance

  • Please do not attend if you or anyone in your household have experienced symptoms of Covid-19 within the past 14 days.
  • Runners in the higher risk groups should follow any medical guidance they have been given about ensuring good health and welfare.
  • Social distancing must be maintained throughout the session, as well as before and after. Please keep at least 2 meters away from other participants and your instructor.
  • Nothing must be passed between attendees or with your instructor. So I’ll be unable to look after phones, keys purses etc.
  • We will meet on the large concrete area next to the netball courts in Finsbury Park. This is at the top of the hill opposite the cafe and boating lake. The cafe and netball courts are both marked on Google Maps.
  • Please do not congregate before or after training.
  • We will train at quieter times, on quieter parts of the park, however there will be other people using the park at the same time as us. We cannot predict or guarantee that they will adhere to social distancing, but please try to maintain a safe distance from them.
  • I know it’s sometimes a natural impulse to help pack away, but please do not move the cones or other equipment.
  • Running and exercise have an element of risk of personal injury. Please consider how you would make your way safely home in the event of an injury that made it difficult to walk – for example a sprained ankle.
  • Sessions may be cancelled while in progress if it is proving too difficult to ensure social distancing.
  • In the event that sessions need to be cancelled (for example in the event of further lockdown) any remaining sessions will be carried over until we are able to operate again. A virtual training group will also be arranged to allow you to continue with your training.
  • No refunds will be given for sessions not attended.

Circuit sessions

  • You will be allocated a spot, marked in chalk or with a cone to help ensure everyone gives each other enough space.
  • We will not be using any equipment so as to minimise the risk of possible virus transmission. Please do not touch/move the cones.

If you have any questions about the above, please email me.
