Running Groups FAQs

Please read the Covid-19 information for our groups before signing up to take part.

Which group is right for me?2020-08-28T05:33:18+01:00

The Beginners Group starts very gently with 1 minute of running at a time in week one. We build each week until you’re running 5k in week 10. If you’ve never run before or are starting running again after a long break, you should start here.

If you can run for 25 mins or longer, you should join the Improvers Group. We don’t run for this long non-stop as we do interval training each week. The longest we tend to run for without stopping is about 10 mins. However, being able to run for 25 mins is a good indicator of the fitness needed for this group.

Our Circuit classes are suitable for all abilities.

Our groups are women-only. We welcome anyone who identifies as a woman.

What should I wear?2020-08-28T05:33:48+01:00

Come in whatever you’re comfortable in. All I ask is that you leave your headphones at home. Some people like to run with music but you’ll need to be able to hear me while you’re running and it’s more friendly for running in a group to be able to chat to each other.

Is there anywhere to store bags?2020-08-28T05:34:10+01:00

Unfortunately not. I’d suggest getting a small running backpack that you’re comfortable running with. If you need an inhaler, please make sure you bring this with you and keep it on you.

What if I can’t make it?2020-08-28T05:34:52+01:00

Trains are delayed, childcare falls through, you catch a cold – these things happen. If for any reason you can’t make it to a session, just let me know – preferably before the start of your session so that we don’t wait around for you.

I don’t issue refunds for sessions you haven’t been able to attend.

What if it’s raining?2020-08-28T05:35:27+01:00

We train even if it’s raining. We have cancelled sessions when the weather would have made it dangerous to run – in high temperature or icy paths. If I have to cancel a session I will email you in advance. I’ve never cancelled a session because of rain.

What is your refund policy?2020-08-28T05:36:11+01:00

If you’ve signed up for the Beginners course but have to pull out before the group starts, you will be offered the option to transfer to the next available group.

Improvers sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Circuit classes require 48 hours notice to cancel. You will then be able to transfer to a future session.

How do I get a T-shirt?2020-08-28T05:37:32+01:00

Whether you plan to train with us in the park, or just in spirit, you can buy a T-shirt or sweatshirt here.
