When you wake up to bright sunshine it’s easier to get yourself out of bed and into your running kit. Today the sun shone through my window and I had a 10-mile run on my mind. Despite the sun in the sky the ground was still muddy. So muddy in fact that my legs ended up looking like this. That’s muddier than after my cross country race two weeks ago.

The observant will notice than my legs are sans tights. That’s right I went running in shorts. It was a very exciting moment and one I’ll be marking on my calendar.

I ran round Richmond Park and said hello to the deer which were out in force. From bright sunshine the last couple of miles were run through rain. But never mind, I was on the home straight having actually done 11 miles.

My rewards? A hot bath which, when I got out Lazy Boy said looked like a rugby team had been in it, and some homemade pumpkin muffins which I knocked up. That’s Sunday running Lazy Girl style.
