Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity Running Bra Review

I’ve run in the Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity Running Bra four times since I arrived last week. And crucially, as part of my testing, I’ve worked from home wearing it for a morning while waiting to go for a lunchtime run. I can tell you now, it’s comfortable for both. If you need a little more detail, then read on.

How does the Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity Running Bra fit?

The bra comes in classic cup and chestband measurement bra sizing rather than women’s dress sizes or (worse) Small, Medium, Large etc sizing. So just from picking it off the rack it’s reassuring that it might actually fit you.

Mine fitted true to size in my regular bra size on the loosest hooks and there was good room to adjust the shoulder straps.

There are hook and eye closures on the underband with a quick-release top clasp so that you can get it off quickly after a run without having to dislocate your arm hoiking it over your head.

The straps are wider at the front than other bras in my collection, but they sat well on my chest.

Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity Running Bra design

The look and structure of the bra is similar to the Shock Absorber Ultimate Run Bra which I’ve run in a lot, but the fabric is very different to that bra. The fabric of the Zero Gravity Running Bra has more stretch.

This is part of the Zero Gravity bra’s anti-bounce design – it intends to support your chest without squashing your breasts. In that sense it’s more similar to the Brooks Dare Racerback 2.0.

However the Zero Gravity Running Bra looks very much like a bra rather than a crop to and so although it comes in a great range of colours, I wouldn’t (personally) feel comfortable working out without a top over the top.

Run test: Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity Running Bra

I’ve worn the Zero Gravity Running Bra on four runs now up to 4 miles and it has performed well. I felt well supported and other than when I was reminding myself that I was supposed to be testing a bra, I forgot I was wearing it.

It’s not a bra that holds you down to stop all movement – it’s very much controlled movement and a soft landing for your breasts. I only really noticed the movement because I had my hand on my chest to assess what was happening.

The fabric was comfortable and everything stayed in place. So far I’ve had no chaffing. Although the weather has been quite cool this past week, I did overdress on one of my runs so I was pretty sweaty.

Final verdict

It’s a good running bra – it’s comfortable and supportive. However, at £75 it’s not cheap.

You can buy it from Sweaty Betty online, but I recommend trying it on in store to get a good fit.
