Top running kit lists tend to feature pretty much the same stuff… until now. I don’t think Runners’ World or Men’s Health have listed Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream in their kit-bag essentials but Lazy Girl would like to put forward a case for its inclusion.

If you’re not familiar witht this product it has a similar consistencey to Vasaline but has a few extra ingredients that make it smell nice and become something that (unlike Vaseline) I would put on my face. Numerous women’s magazines would wax lyrical on the benefits of slapping this on your face and name which celebs are fans – but this in a running blog so I’m not going to bother with that, so here’s why it made it into my kit bag instead of my cosmetics bag…

Imagine it’s winter, you’re training for a marathon. Outside the temperature is minus 2 with wind making it feel like minus 10. You’ve put on your kit and have pretty much covered your whole body – appart from your face. If you don’t fancy a balaclava then Eight Hour cream is the way avoid the biting effects of wind on your face. And that it why it makes it takes the number 9 spot.
